Notes | 2005 Lotus Elise used car inspection found multiple issues. True mileage is unknown. Repairs show that vehicle has been repaired from a major accident. Front and rear clam shells have been repaired; there are visible paint and repair imperfections. Rear clam shell fitment is off as gap to center structure is very large on both left and right sides. Plastic air vent trims are broken and glued into place. Driver door has been repaired, does not close correctly, hits side sill before locking into place. Rear fender liners are loose and dragging on the ground. Rear diffuser is loose and hardware is missing. Interior light does not turn off. Battery is loose in trunk; battery hold down is missing. Was not able to identify areas of the aluminum structure that have been repaired, would need to remove front and rear clam shell body work completely to verify. Front and tires are mismatch brands and are wider than factory. Aftermarket wheel spacers are used to make them fit. Driver seat does not lock into place correctly, during test drive seat kept sliding backwards. Aftermarket radio covers up the A/C controls. Steering wheel and leather seats show wear. Interior panels are missing hardware. Test drive engine and transmission function is normal. Acceleration and shifts were good, clutch engagement is good. Aftermarket exhaust installed. Steering wheel starts to shake badly and steering does not track straight. Was unable to determine what speed the shaking begins, as the speedometer does not work correctly, indicated speed is stuck at 20mph. The odometer did count mileage, although it was less then the actual distance driven. Turn signals do not work, but hazard lights do. Left brake light and right headlight do not illuminate. |
