Notes | Used car inspection of Honda Element EX found vehicle to be in fair condition with several exterior cosmetic flaws. The left front door has several scratches near the window tim and the left rear door has a 1/4" paint chip. The right rear door has a large 1/2" paint chip, and there are several scratches and paint chips on the right front door. The rear bumper insert is not seated since the bumper has been pushed in on the right side. All of the plastic molding shows signs of fading with the front bumper, lower door moldings, and rear tailgate being most pronounced. There is evidence of a small oil leak at the engine valve cover and the right steering tie rod end grease boot has been destroyed, requiring replacement. On the interior, the driver's seat is cracked on the side and seat bolters. The trim in the driver footwell is cracked near the hood release lever, and aftermarket wiring has also been added; its function was not verified. The radio could not be tested, and therefore neither the speakers, due to a radio code error at the time of inspection. The carpets are in good condition and there are no odors present. During the test drive the vehicle accelerated smoothly, and handled and braked as expected. There is a small audible knocking coming from the rear of the vehicle when driven over uneven roads. Also, taking a slow tight corner (ex. u-turn) with the steering locked to one side, results in a slight bucking action of the AWD system; rear differential fluid likely requires replacement. |
